Hash is an abbreviation of the word "hashish." It is a potent and concentrated form of cannabis, derived from the dried resin of the flowering tops of mature and unpollinated female cannabis plants. The resin glands, (called "trichomes,") are typically pressed into blocks (or "cakes") of hash, which can be soft and pliable or stiff and brittle. Hash is usually smoked in pipes, vaporized and inhaled, or mixed with Cannabis Concentrate in joints. It can also be used in cooking, and ingested or pressed to produce hash oil.
