TWINDEMIC means Simultaneous Outbreaks of COVID-19 and Influenza.The term TWINDEMIC is used to refer to the possibility of a severe influenza (flu) outbreak happening at the same time as a wave of COVID-19 infections. It is feared that such a TWINDEMIC could overwhelm the healthcare systems in even the most advanced countries.
TWINDEMIC should not be confused with FLURONA, which is a term used to refer to the simultaneous infection of an individual with both the flu and COVID-19.
