"Let's go Brandon" originated from NBC reporter Kelli Stavast's apparent mishearing of a chant by the crowd at the Talladega racetrack, in October 2021. When cries of "F*ck Joe Biden" rang out as Stavast was interviewing race winner Brandon Brown, the reporter claimed the crowd were chanting "Let's go, Brandon." Subsequently, "Let's go, Brandon" was adopted by Trump supporters as a catchphrase and internet meme, allowing them to express their disdain for Biden through an apparently innocuous phrase.
"Let's go Brandon" spawned the internet meme "Dark Brandon," which subsequently spawned the meme "Dank Brandon."
